ABOUT

INTERNATIONAL SONGWRITERS DAY
APRIL 9
Our contest was created to help celebrate International Songwriters Day, April 9th. We are seeking "inspirational" songs, lyrics and music videos. Details at the links.
International Songwriters Day, April 9 was created to celebrate the work of songwriters around the world. It also will act to advocate on behalf of songwriters as well as help raise money for songwriter affiliated charities.
April 9, 1860 is the date of the earliest recording of a human voice ever recovered, singing the French folk tune, "Clare De La Lune" (By the Light of the Moon). It was recorded by Edouard-Leon Scott de Martinville and was deposited in 1861 with the Academie of Sciences.

One day a year, on April 9, we encourage fans and music lovers in general, to tip their hats off to music creators. "Take them to lunch," buy your favourite songwriter's new album, tickets to their concerts, show them your love and respect.
The organization was founded by company of creatives that have worked in the music business for over twenty years in songwriting, publishing, music placement, event production, post production and contest creation. We have placed music with major TV/film and record companies such as Disney, NBC, ABC, MTV, VH1, Global, Warner Brothers, RCA, etc.
The International Songwriters Day organization was created in part to address the issues affecting songwriters in the digital age.The goal is to partner with other songwriting organizations worldwide to affect positive and necessary change.
Our contest includes an "indie" Music video category & Lyric video category. The song contest seeks "inspirational songs" they can be ballads, but must have an element of hope or redemption.
Contest opens in December each year! Winners will be announced on International Songwriters Day, April 9. Lots of amazing judges and cool prizes!
